2023 Mazda CX-60 : Interior
Mazda’s interiors already are beautiful, Inside the CX-60’s cabin looks one level above current offerings, thanks to elegant materials such as woven fabrics, Nappa leather, and wood trim for the dash and seats. The CX-60 is a two-row model and will likely be Mazda CX-70, followed by a CX-90, and we expect this model to be three-row seats and eventually replace the current Mazda CX-9. Considering it’s the flagship model in the entire Mazda lineup, the CX-60 is suitably comfortable inside. The upper parts of the instrument cluster are clad in soft, fluffy materials that are lifted by chrome accents and silver-plated trims. There’s some hard, scratchy plastic under the glove box, but the keys feel nicely damped and expensive.
The 12.3 driver’s digital instrument display, meanwhile, is crisp, with great color contrast and sharp graphics, even if it’s not particularly configurable. The infotainment system remains Mazda’s strong point. Like other models from the brand, the 2023 CX-60 uses a physical rotary controller that makes it easy to navigate all menus on the go, and wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are included. The system is almost as good as the BMW X3s, and the RAV4’s touchscreen is leagues ahead. There are also two USB C ports on the front and back to enable the charging of portable devices.
2023 Mazda CX-60 : Engine
The Mazda CX-60 comes standard with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and a plug-in-hybrid powertrain that uses a 134-horsepower electric motor. The total output of the system is 323 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and Mazda claims it will have 39 miles of electric range thanks to the 17.8 kWh battery pack. Total power output combined is 323bhp, which is good for a very fast 0-62mph of 5.8 seconds. The 17.8 kWh battery is good for 39 miles of all-electric driving. This range surpasses the X3s (30 mph), although the RAV4 (with 46 mph) and Lexus NX 450h+ (42 mph) both outperform the CX-60.
The 3.3-liter diesel engine will arrive later this year, followed by the 3.0-liter petrol in 2023. Six-cylinder units, both with 48v mild-hybrid systems. The petrol engine will use the fuel-saving technology used in the 2.0-liter e-Skyactiv X engine used in the Mazda 3 hatchback and CX-30 SUV.
2023 Mazda CX-60: Safety
The Mazda CX-60 has not yet been tested by Euro NCAP, but when it comes to safety equipment, all models feature blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign recognition. There’s also a pop-up engine hood that opens to reduce injury in a pedestrian crash.
