2020 Isuzu D-Max Engine
Isuzu has decided to keep the 3.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-diesel – and that’s good news for fans of the well-known engine. Now codenamed 4JJ3, the unit gets more power and torque with 140kW (3600rpm) and 450Nm (1600-2600rpm) respectively. That is a 10kW increase with 20Nm to bring the D-Max more in line with its competition. While there are no official fuel consumption figures, Isuzu says the new D-Max offers “market-leading” numbers. A small 1.9-liter turbo-diesel diesel will be built, but so far it has not been confirmed in the Australian market.
Depending on the body style you choose, the Ranger continues with a choice of three engines, all with the same power as the torch of their predecessor. The 2.2-liter twin-cylinder turbo-diesel diesel has 118kW (3200rpm) and 385Nm, while single-cabs stock the twin 2.0 liter turbo-diesel four (157kW / 500Nm) and 2020 Isuzu Dmax 3.2-m 5-liter cylinder turbo-diesel 147kW / 470Nm.
