The 2023 Honda HR-V is a subcompact crossover SUV  manufactured and sold by Honda for three generations. The 2023 HR-V is completely different from the outgoing model in appearance, but also very different from the one sold in Europe. The HR-V to use a 2.0-liter  aspirated four-cylinder or a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from Honda Civic, as both cars have the same platform; hybrid installation is also possible. The previous generation HR-V shared its platform with a small Honda Fit hatchback, which was cleverly tuned to allow for the trick of the second-row Magic Seat, which made the HR-V surprisingly comfortable to carry.

The HR-V cabin is mainly made of quality materials, which are well-fitted and decorated but have significantly lower quality plastics. The standard infotainment system is simple and easy to use with physical buttons to adjust the climate and audio functions, but it does not have advanced integration with the smartphone. By increasing the level of decoration, you will have more information and entertainment technologies, including Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The Sport is the only decoration with an improved infotainment system with physical audio and climate buttons. In addition, the trims remove the physical controls, which means you have to use a touch screen.

All models will probably come with a touch screen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In the European version of the HR-V, the infotainment screen boasts a centerpiece in the middle of the dashboard and looks larger than the 7.0-inch screen on the outgoing model. We expect at least pleasant things like onboard Wi-Fi, SiriusXM radio, and line navigation as options. The 2023 HR-V can accommodate up to five people in two rows. There are a lot of head and foot gaps ahead. The foot space in the back row is wide, but the headspace is limited by a sloping roofline. Appearance is good for the driver.

There are two complete sets of LATCH connectors for the rear seats. There is also a connecting anchor in the rear middle seat and there is a possibility to remove the lower anchors from the outer seats. The Insurance Institute for Road Safety gave this LATCH system the 2nd-highest rating for ease of use. Connecting anchors can be difficult to find and can be confusing for other equipment, and the bottom anchors are mounted too deep into the seats.

2023 Honda HR-V : Engine

The Honda HR-V 2023 model runs on a hybrid power carrier from Insight and Honda Accord, but the U.S. version is expected to have a traditional gasoline four-cylinder carrier. As the HR-V shared its platform with the new Honda Civic, we could see a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower or a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with 180 horsepower under the hood of the SUV. A hybrid model can also be added to the line, and we expect this model to be launched later than a non-standard hybrid. The front-wheel-drive and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) will almost certainly be the standard device offered as a full-wheel drive option.

Honda has excellent fuel economy ratings for small compact SUVs. With a front-wheel drive, the HR-V gets 28 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. All-wheel-drive models get 1 mpg less in the city and 3 mpg less on the highway. The HR-V’s well-tuned suspension makes it a pleasure to drive. It handles well, has a responsive steering wheel, and returns a comfortable ride if the road isn’t rough. When the road is rough, driving becomes a collision. Each model has a standard front-wheel drive and an all-wheel drive.

2023 Honda HR-V : Safety
