The 2026 Honda NSX can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 3 seconds (or less than the Type S) and has an electronically limited top speed of 191 mph. Criticism has focused on the outdated entertainment system and the lack of emotional engagement or raw sound found in other competitors. The NSX offers comparable performance to more expensive supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan and Porsche 911 Turbo, making it a solid value proposition, even if it lacks some of their certifications or emissions scores.

2026 Acura NSX : Interior

Inside, the Acura NSX interior combines efficiency with everyday driving comfort, staying true to the “everyday luxury” philosophy. The cabin design is focused on the driver, with premium materials such as leather and Alcantara with carbon fiber trim elements available, creating a premium feel without being too flashy. Visibility is excellent for a mid-engine vehicle thanks to the low dashboard and low A-pillars, which help with confidence during aggressive driving and everyday driving. The Honda NSX seats are supportive and comfortable on long journeys, and the headroom ensures that most drivers can find a comfortable driving position. Although the limited storage space is a drawback, the overall design prioritizes performance and comfort, making it the perfect vehicle for daily commuting and race days.

Despite its focus on performance, the interior of the NSX has a major weakness in its technical interface. The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, borrowed from older Honda models, has been widely criticized as outdated. Its menu layout is inconsistent, and the lack of a visible volume button is a common complaint. While it offers standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, these features sometimes feel like a feature of a system that lacks the modern technology and advanced driver assistance features found in many cheaper cars. The internal technology is very different from today’s hybrid powertrain, which slightly reduces the car’s futuristic appeal.

2026 Acura NSX : Engine

The second-generation Acura NSX is powered by a sophisticated Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel Drive) system, which uses a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine paired with three electric motors. The V6 engine is a custom design with a unique 75-degree bank angle, dry sump lubrication, and direct and combined fuel injection, which helps lower the center of gravity and maintain proper fuel flow during hard cornering. In standard models, the V6 engine alone produces 500 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, with a total system output of up to 573 horsepower and 476 lb-ft of torque, all handled by a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).

The new hybrid system is essential to the NSX’s performance, enabling a unique form of electric all-wheel drive. Two electric motors are mounted independently at the front to drive each front wheel, with no mechanical connection to the rear motor, providing instant torque and “direct yaw control” to improve cornering accuracy and flexibility. A third electric motor is integrated between the V6 engine and the transmission, adding extra power to the rear wheels and adjusting the power supply during gear changes. The 2026 Type S model features upgraded turbochargers and fuel injectors, increasing total system output to 600 horsepower and 492 lb-ft of torque for even more powerful performance.

2026 Acura NSX : Safety

The Acura NSX prioritizes passive safety with its new multi-space structure, which incorporates aluminum composite nodes and high-strength steel A-pillars to effectively control crash forces and protect passengers in the event of a crash. Standard passive safety equipment includes a full system of front, side, knee, and curtain airbags with rollover sensors, and three-point seat belts with automatic pretensioners. For added safety, the car is equipped with Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) with traction control, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), and a multi-angle rear view camera with dynamic guidance. However, the NSX lacks advanced driver assistance systems common to modern luxury cars, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic emergency braking Due to its low production, the Acura NSX has not been crash tested by major independent safety organizations such as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
