The electric i1 will utilize a dedicated 800-volt architecture (NBx platform), enabling very fast charging and an expected driving range of over 480 km. Inside, a minimalist look will take center stage with a scaled-down version of BMW’s panoramic iDrive display, vegan-friendly materials, and the latest Operating System 9; all supported by over-the-air (OTA) updates. With a longer wheelbase improving rear passenger legroom and an expected 400-liter boot capacity, BMW aims to attract young, tech-savvy buyers and maintain its market share as competitors like the Mercedes A-Class gradually pull away.

The interior of the 2027 BMW 1 Series will feature a minimalist design focused on the digital experience, centered around a large, comfortable BMW Curved Display running the latest BMW Operating System 9.
