The 2025 BMW 2 Series is a line of compact luxury cars produced by the German automaker BMW. The BMW 2 Series is available in various body styles, including coupe and convertible, and it’s known for its agile handling and powerful engines. The 2025 BMW 2 Series comes in several trim levels, each offering a different level of performance and features. Additionally, despite the increase in overall length and width, including a 2.0-inch extended wheelbase, the Coupe’s back seat has less head and legroom than the model it replaces.

Unfortunately, there’s no longer a manual transmission option, but both powertrains can be paired with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The 2-series offers a first-class cabin as well as athleticism on the road, and remains relatively affordable, at least in 230i form. For those looking for more practicality, BMW offers the four-door 2-series Gran Coupe, the sedan has a completely different front-wheel-drive platform and doesn’t impress as much as the 2-series coupe. The former requires the latter, but their mix of performance upgrades and unique visual enhancements is highly desirable.

Inside, the BMW 2 Series is built with high-quality materials such as leather, wood, and metal accents to create an upscale and comfortable interior. The 2-series infotainment system operates via the standard 8.8-inch touchscreen or the available 10.3-inch unit. Along with steering wheel controls and voice commands, the interface can be manipulated via the rotary controller on the center console, which is flanked by handy shortcut buttons. BMW also includes a physical volume knob. The BMW 2 Series featured a subscription Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 10-speaker stereo. Those who want a more powerful sound system can switch to the 14-speaker, 464-watt Harman Kardon setup.

The BMW 2 Series usually offers comfortable and supportive seats for both the driver and passengers. The 2 Series Coupe has a seating capacity for four people, while the four-door Gran Coupe has a seating capacity for five people. Both models feature supportive and comfortable front seats and plenty of head and legroom up front. The Gran Coupe’s second row has short headroom, but it’s adequate for adults on short trips. The coupe’s backseat is even smaller, but can easily accommodate adults. Getting in and out of the coupe is a bit more challenging due to the low seating positions.

2025 BMW 2 Series : Engine

The BMW 2 Series is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 255 hp, while the M240i has a turbo 3.0-liter inline six with 382 hp. The BMW 230i and BMW M240i are both offered with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. An eight-speed automatic transmission is the only transmission option. Those looking to get the most performance out of the 230i will want to choose the M Sport and Dynamic Handling packages, which include 19-inch wheels on performance tires, a sportier suspension, upgraded brakes, a variable-ratio steering system, and an electronic steering system.
