The 2020 Mazda6 base has a 2.5 liter four cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower and 186 liters of torque. The modified variants of this engine come standard on the top models. It generates 227 or 250 horsepower – depending on the fuel level in the fuel tank – and 310 miles of torque. Both engines come with a six-speed automatic transmission. While the basic Skyactiv-G engine is powerful, many critics note that the turbo-four feels more powerful. The transmission creates responsive shifts.
