2027 Mazda CX-60
The 2027 Mazda CX-60 is a mid-size, two-row luxury SUV produced by Mazda. The 2027 Mazda CX-60 uniquely combines Japanese craftsmanship with a longitudinally mounted, rear-mounted engine platform. With a choice of mild-hybrid inline-six and plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) powertrains and a large 570-liter trunk, the Mazda CX-60 is designed to challenge luxury rivals such as BMW and Mercedes.
The Mazda CX-60 has a maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP and ANCAP, and features the advanced i-Activsense driver assistance system and advanced airbags as standard. The Mazda CX-60 competes closely with premium mid-size SUVs such as the BMW X3, Audi Q5, Lexus NX, and Volvo XC60. The Mazda CX-60 is priced between US$32,000 and US$60,000, but is not sold in the United States.
2027 Mazda CX-60 : Interior
The Mazda CX-60’s interior reflects the brand’s shift into the luxury segment, highlighting a sleek design inspired by traditional Japanese aesthetics. CX-60 high-end trim levels feature a striking combination of maple wood, Nappa leather, and woven fabrics with Kakenui stitching. The driver-focused cockpit centers around a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and a matching digital instrument cluster. 2027 CX-60 also offers an Intelligent Driver Assistance System that automatically adjusts the position of the seat, steering wheel, and head-up display using face recognition cameras.
Passenger comfort and efficiency are among the CX-60’s strengths; it offers a spacious cabin and a generous 570-litre boot capacity, which increases to 1,726 litres when the rear seats, which fold down in a 40:20:40 split, are folded down. Importantly, opting for the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant does not compromise boot capacity to accommodate the batteries; this gives the CX-60 more hybrid cargo space than premium rivals such as the BMW X3. Standard features such as heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and rear air vents enhance overall comfort, while higher trim levels offer luxury upgrades such as ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
2027 Mazda CX-60 : Engine
The Mazda CX-60 features Mazda’s Skyactiv Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, which offers a choice of highly efficient and smooth-running, rear-heavy plug-in hybrid (PHEV) engines. The e-Skyactiv PHEV combines a 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with a 129 kW electric motor and a 17.8 kWh lithium-ion battery, producing 327 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. This setup makes it Mazda’s most powerful road car to date; it accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds and offers a range of 63 kilometres of pure electric driving. All models come standard with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox where a multi-plate clutch replaces the traditional torque converter, providing crisp and precise gear changes.

The CX-60 also offers a choice of high-performance 3.3-litre turbocharged inline six-cylinder engines in both petrol and diesel, paired with the 48V M Hybrid Boost system. The e-Skyactiv D diesel engine is highly praised for its fuel efficiency and is available in a rear-wheel-drive version with 197 hp or a more powerful 251 hp all-wheel-drive version. The e-Skyactiv G petrol version offers 280 hp, providing the smooth, refined power delivery typical of European premium SUVs. The layout of each engine is longitudinal; this prioritizes sporty, rear-wheel-drive power that improves cornering and high-speed stability.
2027 Mazda CX-60 : Safety
The Mazda CX-60 achieved excellent safety ratings, earning five stars from Euro NCAP and ANCAP, and scored high in adult and child protection. The Mazda CX-60 is equipped with Mazda’s i-Activsense package, which includes advanced driver assistance systems such as automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, and a 360-degree view screen for congested areas. Most importantly, the 2027 Mazda CX-60 SUV offers a new front-seat center airbag to prevent head-on collisions during side impacts, as well as a driver alert system that warns if it detects signs of fatigue or distraction.
