Infiniti is Nissan’s luxury car division, which was officially launched in 1989 to compete with high-end brands in Europe and the United States. Created by a secretive team known as the “Horizon Task Force,” the brand’s identity is built on a philosophy of human-centered luxury, which prioritizes driver experience and emotional connection over mechanical features.

Infiniti’s design language is strongly rooted in its Japanese heritage and often uses the concept of Ma which denotes the efficient use of space and minimalism to create balance and warmth. Recently, Infiniti has transformed this identity by incorporating several emotional elements, including a unique scent reminiscent of Japanese forests and an auditory logo inspired by the human voice and traditional Japanese beats.

Infiniti is undergoing a significant brand refresh, which includes streamlining its internal combustion engine lineup to pave the way for an electric future. While some older models, such as the Infiniti  Q50 sedan and Infiniti  QX50/Infiniti QX55 crossover, are being discontinued, the brand is basing its current growth on the redesigned 2026 Infiniti QX80 and the award-winning Infiniti  QX60. Looking ahead, the brand is committed to transitioning to a full electric range by 2030, with the production models of the Vision Qe sedan and Vision Infiniti QXe SUV expected to be launched soon as the first of several new battery-electric vehicles.
