Base models came with an 8.25-inch screen, while higher trims received a larger 9.25-inch version with satellite navigation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were standard on most trims. A customizable 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit also came standard, allowing drivers to configure the driving information display.

A 1.5-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder engine produced 150 PS (148 hp) and 250 Nm of torque, available with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox, had a maximum unbraked towing capacity of 750kg. The 2.0-litre TDI turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine delivered 150 PS (148 hp) and 340 Nm of torque, offered with a six-speed manual or a seven-speed DSG automatic, with the option for 4Drive all-wheel drive on automatic models. Paired with the DSG automatic gearbox, it had a braked towing capacity of 2,200kg. The plug-in hybrid version, the e-Hybrid, was also available before production ended.
