2026 Rivian R3X
The 2026 Rivian R3X is an eco-friendly performance version of Rivian’s small electric crossover. The 2026 Rivian R3X is built on the same new platform as the flagship R2. The Rivian 2026 R3X will feature a three-motor all-wheel drive system for impressive on-road performance, going from 0-62 mph in under three seconds. It also features a larger battery option, fast-charging capabilities, and a built-in NACS port for compatibility with the Tesla Supercharger network, providing an estimated range of more than 300 miles (480 kilometers).

The 2026 Rivian R3X is a performance-focused, all-electric crossover inspired by 1980s rally cars, representing a more aggressive version of Rivian’s new and accessible R3 series. The minimalist cockpit features two large digital displays: a central instrument cluster and a touchscreen for visual controls, combined with highly refined haptic scroll wheels on a new, flat-bottomed steering wheel.

The R3X dashboard comes with a distinctive design with orange accents, wooden seats with metal rivets, and sustainable materials such as cork on the dashboard and floor, which may include recycled plastic. The interior of the R3X is designed for practicality and entertainment, offering a spacious cabin with seats that fold down to create an in-cabin sleeping area. A unique “flipper glass” rear door provides quick access to the cargo area or to transport long items.

Storage compartments behind the front seats provide a secure place to store items like a sleeping bag or beach towel.

As an electric vehicle, the 2026 Rivian R3X lacks a conventional “engine,” a common misconception about electric vehicles. Instead, the vehicle is powered by a highly efficient, three-motor electric motor setup. This setup consists of a single electric motor powering the front wheels and two independent motors driving each rear wheel, providing improved off-road and on-road traction through advanced torque vectoring. While Rivian has yet to release power or torque figures, this setup, combined with a large battery pack, allows the R3 platform’s fastest configuration to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. To enhance practicality, the R3X features a “bent-glass” rear suspension for easy installation, adequate storage space, and two glove compartments.

With a range of over 300 miles (480 km) from a large battery pack, the 2026 Rivian R3X supports DC fast charging and has a NACS port for seamless charging at the Tesla Supercharger network. The interior is designed for entertainment, with fully folding seats for in-car camping and a unique “floating glass” rear door that provides flexible access to cargo.
