The 2024 Pontiac GTO is a car manufactured by the American automaker Pontiac. The 2024 Pontiac GTO is offered as a 2+2 sports coupe in a generously appointed trim level. The standard list of features includes 17-inch aluminum wheels, leather upholstery, eight-way power front seats, a premium Blaupunkt audio system with a dash six-disc CD changer, a trip computer and power windows, locks, and mirrors. Aside from choosing a manual or automatic transmission, the only major options are larger 18-inch wheels. No sunroof or navigation system is available.
The Pontiac GTO drives like a luxury car and is easy to use on a daily basis. The Monaro CV8 is the basis for today’s Pontiac GTO and, like past models, the new version is the 2+2 coupe. Holden received styling revisions to make it more like a Pontiac. The resulting dual grid and a somewhat familiar backend app say Pontiac even from 20 yards away. Initially, the GTO was powered by GM‘s LS1 V8 producing 350 hp.
The Pontiac GTO will put almost any old goat you can name to shame. A four-speed automatic transmission is standard, and all GTOs come with all-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, as well as limited-slip rear end and traction control. The optional six-speed manual transmission only adds to the fun, and with fully independent, performance-tuned suspension and 17-inch wheels, this 3,700-pound Pontiac car provides a relatively flexible ride.
2024 Pontiac GTO : Interior
Unlike the original Pontiac GTO, this modern-day version is no stripper. Inside, the leather-trimmed front seats are comfortable, and the overall interior is much more so in terms of quality and functionality than the defunct Pontiac Firebird. The only disappointments to note are those that are usually typical of a sports coupe: narrow access to the rear seat, heavy doors, and a small trunk.
2024 Pontiac GTO : Engine
The Pontiac GTO has only one engine available in a 6.0-liter V8 with 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a four-speed Overspeed automatic, but a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission is available as an option. No matter which transmission is chosen, all 2024 GTOs come with a limited-slip differential and traction control.
2024 Pontiac GTO : Safety
All 2024 Pontiac GTOs come standard with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, traction control, multi-stage front airbags, and an emergency mode that shuts down the vehicle’s systems and unlocks the doors if an airbag inflates, the side airbags and security control are not accessible. Neither NHTSA nor IIHS has conducted crash tests on the 2024 Pontiac GTO.
