2026 Acura ZDX

The 2026 Acura ZDX is the first electric SUV, developed in partnership with General Motors (GM) using its Ultium platform. The Acura ZDX 2026 is a 5-passenger mid-size crossover SUV that comes in two main trims, the A-Spec and the Type S. Acura also plans to release a wider RSX electric SUV based on the Honda platform for those looking for a little more style. The ZDX is Acura’s first electric vehicle.

The interior feels less luxurious than expected for the price, especially compared to rivals built on the same General Motors Ultium platform like the Genesis Electrified GV70 and Cadillac Lyriq. Acura plans to reintroduce the Acura ZDX for the 2026 model year, which is expected to feature significant changes but will offer more powerful electric performance, faster charging, and advanced technology features with its Google-based entertainment system.

All ZDX trims come standard with a Bang & Olufsen premium stereo system. Early adopters have reported problems, such as drivetrain failures and glitchy infotainment systems, hinting at a possible early release in the first year. A-Spec models have an 18-speaker system, while the Type S comes with a 19-speaker system, along with standard safety features.

Inside, the cabin is significant for being technologically advanced and spacious, with many features found only on the high-performance Type S trim. Milano premium leather seats were offered with perforations in all fabrics. The ZDX A-Spec will come with 12-way power-adjustable front seats with lumbar support, heating, and ventilation as standard. The Acura ZDX Type S model features 16-way power-adjustable front seats with side bolsters and adjustable thigh support.

The ZDX came standard with Google Built-In, which operates via an 11.3-inch touchscreen and an 11-inch digital instrument cluster. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto were also standard. All 2026 Acura ZDX models were equipped with an 18-speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. The cabin was known for being quiet and had comfortable seating for five, plenty of headroom, and a standard panoramic moonroof.

Acura’s cool wireless charging pad was mounted in the center console. The Type S trim added a head-up display, heated rear seats, and Hands Free Cruise (GM’s version of Super Cruise). The ZDX was discontinued after one model year due to lagging sales and changing market conditions. The ZDX will be replaced by the Acura RSX, a future electric SUV built on a platform developed by Honda, which is expected to be launched in the second half of 2026.

The 2026 ZDX is built on the GM Ultium platform and comes with three different powertrains, each paired with a 102-kWh lithium-ion battery. The ZDX A-Spec is powered by a single electric motor, which drives the rear wheels and produces 358 horsepower and 324 lb-ft of torque. The 2026 ZDX A-Spec (AWD) trim features a second motor driving all four wheels, resulting in an increased output of 490 horsepower and 437 lb-ft of torque. The performance-oriented ZDX Type S (AWD) trim used a dual motor system that delivered 500 horsepower and 544 lb-ft of substantial torque.

The 2026 Acura ZDX features the AcuraWatch™ 360+ suite of advanced driver assistance technologies, including automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control, to help prevent collisions and improve driver awareness. The 2026 Acura ZDX also features a rigid body structure, multiple airbags, and systems such as rear cross traffic alert and automatic parking assist for added safety and convenience when parking and maneuvering. Key safety features of the Acura ZDX include the AcuraWatch™ suite, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Keeping Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Automatic Park Assist, 360 Degree Camera System, and Robust Structure.
