The 2023 Jeep Liberty is a compact four-door compact SUV manufactured and marketed by Jeep. The 2023 Jeep Liberty is well suited to those looking for a compact SUV that has its own in the wilderness. Otherwise, more city-focused buyers will find that it’s better than most of Liberty’s competitors in terms of day-to-day driving and refinement. Both generations were marketed globally, including the Jeep Cherokee outside of North America.

Liberty was offered a number of other options, such as the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V, or Toyota RAV4. The Jeep KK generation was co-produced with the closely related Dodge Nitro. Jeep officially ceased production in August 2012, and was replaced by a Jeep Cherokee. The 2023 Liberty is a compact SUV that comes in two trim levels: Sport and Limited.

The Sport has 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, full power accessories, stability control, and a six-speaker stereo with a CD player. The more exclusive Limited equipment gives you amenities such as 17-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Options available include a sunroof, leather upholstery, heated seats, and an under-dash CD audio system with Infinity speakers.

2023 Jeep Liberty: Interior

Inside, the Jeep 2023 Liberty provides enough room for four adults with satin aluminum accents and black-on-white gauges with chrome rings. A full-size replacement is hung in the stylish rear cargo door with its single-acting swing-door/wing glass system. There’s a total of 31 cubic feet behind the Liberty’s bi-folding rear seat, and 69 cubic feet of cargo space when that seat is folded. Liberty’s main fault is in and out for rear passengers; can be difficult due to the small rear doors and the rear wheel getting into the doorway.

2023 Jeep Liberty : Engine

The Liberty was the first Jeep to use rack-and-pinion steering, and the first Jeep to use two PowerTech engines, which were new at the time; 150 hp (110 kW) 2.4 L straight-4 and 210 hp (160 kW) 3.7 L V6 and short-lived 2.8 L VM Motori turbodiesel, discontinued in 2006. The Jeep vehicle uses rack and pinion steering and PowerTech engines with 2.4, 2.8 diesel, and 3.7 V-6. Two-wheel or part-time all-wheel drive is available for both trim levels, as is a full-time “Select-Trac” 4WD system. The Liberty is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 rated at 210 horsepower and 235 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard for the Sport trim level, and a four-speed automatic transmission is optional. Auto comes standard on Limited equipment.

2023 Jeep Liberty : Safety

Anti-lock disc brakes and stability control come standard on the 2023 Liberty, and side curtain airbags are available as an option. In NHTSA crash tests, the 2007 Jeep Liberty earned five stars for driver protection and four stars for front occupant protection in a frontal collision. The side impact test resulted in a five-star rating for both front and rear passengers. In the forward offset crash test conducted by IIHS, Liberty was awarded a marginal rating, the second lowest of the four.
