The Hyundai Ioniq 6 offers more range and performance, and its design makes it even more attractive. The Ioniq 6 combines a long driving range with attractive looks and many features, all at a very attractive price. Hyundai shares many elements with the boxy Ioniq 5 SUV but packs them into a sleek, aerodynamic design. The Ioniq 6 comes with rear- or all-wheel drive and a choice of two battery packs; the larger of these provides an EPA-estimated driving range of 361 miles; This is a figure that surpasses even the Tesla Model 3. Although not impressive, the Ioniq 6 still delivers top-notch performance with its fast charging, quick acceleration, and spacious interior.

The Ioniq 6 comfortably seats five people and offers good leg and headroom in the front. The cabin sports a modern and minimalist aesthetic, similar to the Ioniq 5, and its flat floor helps the feeling of spaciousness inside. As a standard four-door sedan, it offers space for five people in two rows of seats. Hyundai has gone to great lengths to ensure a quiet cabin by incorporating several layers of sound-deadening material between the floor and carpet. Taller passengers may notice less headroom in the back due to the sloping roofline. This Hyundai has a clean, stylish interior with many high-end features.

Both a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen are available. The Ioniq 6 uses the same software as other Hyundai models, which includes BlueLink communication functions and allows connection to smartphones using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. One of the few problems with the Ioniq 6 is its limited cargo space. With 11.2 cubic feet of storage space, it falls short of many competitors. Critics also complain about the small trunk opening, which makes loading large items difficult.

The Ioniq 6 is offered with two powertrains. The base rear-wheel-drive version has a 77.4 kWh electric motor and battery that produces 225 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. There is also a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain paired with a 77.4 kWh battery that produces 320 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque. Both come with a single-speed automatic transmission. Both options offer satisfyingly quick acceleration from a standstill. The twin-motor version is spicier, but single-motor powertrain models provide a comfortable and capable daily driver.

The 2025 Ioniq 6 SE trim with the single-motor powertrain is the most efficient model, with an EPA-rated 153 MPG city equivalent and 127 MPGE highway equivalent. With the dual motor powertrain, ratings drop to 130/111 MPGE city/highway. The SEL and Limited trims see a significant drop in efficiency, mainly due to their 20-inch wheels. Single-motor powertrain models get an EPA-rated 129/105 MPGe city/highway, while dual-motor powertrain models drop to 111/94 MPGe. However, these options remain competitive in class.
