Like the MINI, the 500 has been successful enough since its rebirth almost a decade ago to spawn a series of cars that includes the much larger Fiat 500L MPV and the Nissan Juke rival Fiat 500X crossover – the first of which expands the 500’s retro near breaking point identity. Meanwhile, the Fiat 500C convertible adds a touch of fresh air to the already fun package, while the Abarth 595 hot hatch adds a burst of adrenaline to the 500’s frothy cappuccino.

The Fiat 500 owners don’t seem too impressed with the city car’s reliability, and its safety rating is below average. All models feature anti-lock brakes to reduce wheel spin, seven airbags, and electronic stability management, as well as a hill, hold assist and hydraulic brake assist to assist in emergency stops.
