Lincoln
Lincoln Motor Company, or simply Lincoln, was the luxury automobile division of the American automobile manufacturer Ford Motor Company. Headquartered in Dearborn, Michigan, the brand has symbolized American prestige, beautiful design, and refined comfort for over a century. Founded in 1917 by engineer Henry M. Leland and his son Wilfred, the company was named after President Abraham Lincoln, whom Leland greatly admired.
Initially producing aircraft engines during World War I, the company later shifted its focus to luxury automobiles. Following economic difficulties and bankruptcy, it was acquired by Henry and Edsel Ford in 1922. Under Edsel Ford’s leadership, Lincoln quickly became an American icon, combining precision engineering with high-quality design. Lincoln has always been closely associated with the highest echelons of American government and has served as the official government limousine for many U.S. presidents.
Vehicles like the classic Lincoln Continental, often called “the world’s most beautiful car” by architect Frank Lloyd Wright, have cemented the brand’s legacy in popular culture, film, and high society. In the North American and Chinese markets, Lincoln Motor Company currently operates solely as a manufacturer of premium SUVs and crossovers. Its current product range includes the small Corsair, the mid-size Nautilus, the three-row Aviator, and the flagship Navigator.
