The 2022 Bentley Continental GT is a grand tourer and marketed by British automaker Bentley Motors. The 2022 Bentley Continental GT is also an extreme car at makes the journey memorable. The Continental GT has a well-balanced chassis with just the right amount of athleticism for winding canyon roads plus a smooth ride. All this grandeur comes at a steep price, but the six-figure spend only enhances the curb appeal of the Bentley Continental GT. A higher-performance Speed model rejoins the Continental GT lineup for 2022 and is powered by a 650-hp version of the car’s W-12 engine; chassis updates to improve agility. Those new handling enhancements include rear-wheel steering and torque vector rear differentiator. The Speed also sports special styling features including a Speed badge, unique 22-inch wheels, microfiber interior upholstery, and optional carbon-carbon dashboard trim.

Inside, the interior is well wrapped in aromatic leather and fine wood veneers, and almost everything about the Continental RV is adjustable – at a price, of course. Bentley designers thought everything through, each behind the wheel revealing an intriguing detail, such as specialized knife control knuckles and double-stitched diamond pattern seat trim. Although the Continental GT technically has seat belts for four occupants, we would suggest that you avoid using the rear seat for carrying adult-sized people as its leg and room are limited.

The central of the dashboard is dominated by a 12.3-inch infotainment display. Continental GT is part of a unique, three-sided rotating unit that also includes a panel with three small analog gauges for external air temperature, time, and compass header, and a third side that shows nothing but instrument-panel trim matching. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities are standard, as is a digital meter display that allows the driver to control most of the Continent’s GT functions using steering wheel controls. The Continental GT offers two optional sound systems: a Bang & Olufsen arrangement and a spectacular system.
2022 Bentley Continental GT : Engine
All 2022 Continental GT versions of the existing V-8 and W-12 engines powered by the previous generation GT Continent provide muscular car performance. Our tests on the older model revealed that the V-8, which makes 542 horsepower, can launch the coupe to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The more expensive W-12 engine produces 626 horsepower in models other than Speed and can propel the coupe to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds. The same engine is tuned up to 650 hp in the Speed model, but we haven’t tested that one yet. Both engines use a dual eight-clutch automatic transmission that pulls off fast but smooth gearshifts. Customers can order the coupe or convert it with either engine. All Continental RVs have a standard all-wheel-drive system. Two-turbo V-8 is the most fuel-efficient proposition in a given model, you know efficiency is not top of mind for the carmaker or its customers, for that matter. The EPA rates the Continental V-8 at 16 mpg city and 26 highway. In testing, on average 28 mpg in a V-8 model in our 200-mile highway fuel economy test.
2022 Bentley Continental GT : Safety
The NCAP Euro is unlikely to ever shatter a test exotic like the Continental GT, though they recently hit a new Porsche Cayenne for the first time. Bentley shares the Continental GT platform and has performed very well earning five stars, so with similar foundations and security systems, expect a similar level of security from the Bentley. Bentley offers driver assistance features such as options such as adaptive cruise control, a night vision system, and automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection.
