Inside, the 2026 Mitsubishi Pajero interior retains its heritage of rugged off-roading while shifting to a more sophisticated and digital environment. The Pajero’s central dashboard is a modern multi-display, a digital evolution of the famous three-instrument cluster from previous generations, actively monitoring the vehicle’s inclination, roll angle, height, and torque distribution in real time. This is accompanied by a large central infotainment system with wireless smartphone integration and a fully digital driver instrument cluster. To enhance the driving experience, the cabin features soft-touch materials, premium leather upholstery, acoustic glass for improved sound insulation, and a newly designed center console that houses the rugged controls for the Super Select II 4WD system.

Mitsubishi Pajero is designed for efficiency and comfort; the layout retains a generous 7-seat configuration spread across three rows, offering flexible cargo-carrying solutions suitable for long-distance touring. Standard comfort features include multi-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and padded front seats, creating a more refined atmosphere compared to the practical Triton pickup with which it shares its platform. In addition, the cabin is equipped with Mitsubishi’s latest safety package, which includes multiple airbags and a digital head-up display to provide excellent visibility despite the vehicle’s size.

2026 Mitsubishi Pajero : Engine

The 2026 Mitsubishi Pajero is powered by a highly efficient 2.4-liter twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine, dubbed the 4N16. This engine uses an inline twin-turbo configuration to eliminate lag, producing 201 horsepower (150 kW) and 470 Nm of torque at low revs to provide excellent climbing and heavy-duty towing performance. Power is transferred through a new, improved 8-speed automatic transmission, replacing the older units found in previous generations, designed to shift gears smoothly and maximize fuel efficiency. This combination allows the Pajero to easily handle its heavy, ladder-type chassis, while providing precise power delivery both on the highway and on rough off-road terrain.

To complement this powertrain, the engine is mated to Mitsubishi’s advanced Super Select II 4WD system, which allows drivers to quickly switch between 2WD and 4WD modes. The engine’s high torque provides impressive, competitive pulling power for heavy trailers, boats, or caravans on difficult terrain. In addition, while the global launch is entirely based on this twin-turbo diesel variant, Mitsubishi is actively developing a high-efficiency Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) version that is expected to be released in subsequent model years to meet stricter emission standards and offer superior fuel economy.

2026 Mitsubishi Pajero : Safety

The 2026 Mitsubishi Pajero is equipped with Mitsubishi’s latest generation of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to achieve the highest five-star safety rating worldwide. The Pajero comes with a variety of standard electronic safety features, including automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and a 360-degree lane departure camera system. Structurally, the Mitsubishi 2026 Pajero is based on a high-strength steel frame designed to absorb heavy impacts and a multi-stage airbag system that protects occupants in all three seats.
