2017 Aston Martin Vanquish is a big tourer which was launched in 2001 as a successor to the aging Virage series. The first-generation Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was designed by Ian Callum, unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2001 and was produced from 2001 to 2005. The 2017 Aston Martin Vanquish prototype was built by the cooperation of the Ford Motor Company and Indian designer Dilip Chhabria featured as the official James Bond car in the film Another Day. The 2017 Aston Martin S unveiled in 2004 with a more powerful engine and improved aerodynamics. The Aston Martin Vanquish S and Aston Martin C12 Vanquish were replaced by the DBS in 2007. In 2012, the name Aston Martin revived for the successor to the DBS.

The Aston Martin Vanquish S debuted at the 2004 Paris Motor Show, with increased horsepower and performance and slight styling revisions. The engine displacement remained at 5,935 ccs (5.9 L; 362.2 cu in), with power increased from 450 to 520 hp (340-390 kW). Visual changes include new wheels, a slightly different nose shape, a new order boot lid with a larger integrated spoiler incorporating the third high-level brake light, a Vanquish S badge on the boot lid and the addition of a small front splitter. As part of its improvements, the Vanquish S featured a slightly improved coefficient of drag of 12:32, with the help of a redesigned splitter and boot lid. The front and rear track were 1,524 mm (60.0 inches) and 1,529 mm (60.2 inches), respectively.
