The Cadillac’s new leader fits over the CTS and underneath the BMW 7 Series and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. CT6 Cadillac is a big sedan that has some athletic tricks and has a steady, controlled ride and a very quiet interior. Buyers will opt for the mid-range non-turbo V6, while the top trim will get the 404 hp twin-turbocharged V6. The eight-speed automatic is smooth and responsive. All-wheel drive comes standard on V6s. The interior is luxurious and spacious, but cabin storage is a bit lackluster. Despite the improvements, the updated CUE infotainment touchscreen is still unintuitive.

The CT6 Premium Extravagance is basically a completely stacked vehicle with a similar V6 motor. The CT6 adds a host of technology and comfort features, such as a 34-speaker Bose Panaray stereo, rear seat entertainment, and a raised seat. You also get Cadillac’s adaptive cruise control with Super Cruise. Mechanically, Premium Luxury equips magnetic ride control and active rear-wheel steering.

The CT6 Cadillac has for the most part excellent materials in its lodge, including authentic cowhide upholstery. In any case, there are a couple of materials on the mid-control area and run that doesn’t look or feel suitable for an extravagance vehicle. Access to the cabin is easy, thanks to wide-opening doors and seats that let you slide in. There’s plenty of room for passengers on all sides and ample room for even larger people in the rear. Visibility is satisfactory from both the front and rear. While the driver’s seat is highly adjustable, the telescopic range of the steering wheel is quite limited, giving some reach for long-legged drivers. The biggest weakness is the volume controls, which are sometimes frustrating to use and far more limited than what some other luxury brands offer.

Loading every version with infotainment features inside, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, navigation, triple USB ports, wireless smartphone charging, and triple USB ports. The 8.0-inch touchscreen is the only one-size-fits-all display available, but it’s accompanied by a rotary control and volume knob on the center console for fewer distractions. Cadillac also offers a 34-speaker Bose Panaray sound system that sounds better to untrained ears.

2023 Cadillac CT6 : Engine

The Premium and Premium Extravagance forms are fueled by a 335-hp 3.6-liter V-6. Dubbed the Blackwing for added impact, the twin-turbo 4.2-liter V-8 produces 550 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque in the performance-focused CT6-V. The EPA estimates that the V-6-powered 2020 CT6 will gain 18 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Those numbers are in line with all-wheel drive rivals like the BMW 7 series and Mercedes-Benz S-class when equipped with their base engines. Switching to the 550-horsepower CT6-V would mean a lot of tax on gas and an EPA rating of 14 mpg per city and 25 highways.

2023 Cadillac CT6 : Safety

The 2023 CT6 has not been crashing tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). However, Cadillac has a variety of standard driver assistance tech alongside futuristic upgrades such as semi-autonomous driving aids and night vision. Key safety features include blind spot monitoring, rearview camera, cross traffic alert, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, distance indicator, night vision detection, rain-sensing windshield wipers, collision warning, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, Head-up display, and supercruise semi-autonomous driving system.
