The Civic is redesigned body and updated interior for 2022 year model. Like the latest generation model, the 2022 Civic will be available in both sedan and hatchback body. A more simplified design of the interior in the 2022 Civic, with clean lines and a full-width multi-compartment mesh design element, cleverly hides the air vents. The wider center console looks less cluttered than the outgoing model, and looks like a large, deep box for smartphones, keys, and on-the-go snacks.
2022 Honda Civic : Interior
The cabin has a unique design, all controls are convenient and intuitive. It’s also spacious, the front can accommodate the workshop and short occupants comfortably, while the rear seats accommodate adults without a problem. The back of the foot is too much and the head space is enough. The exterior is aided by narrow columns at the front of the door and side mirrors, which free up your view from the front. The rear window is a bit short, but the multi-angle rear view camera helps you identify everything that might be behind you as you exit the parking lot.
Inside, the touch-screen infotainment system is located on the top line to help keep your eyes on the road. It has intuitive menus on the screen and responds quickly to your entries. The graphics of the optional navigation system seem a bit outdated, but the map works well. Our Touring ornaments had a 9-inch larger screen, while the lower parts had a 7-inch smaller version. Most users, however, may prefer to use the standard Apple CarPlay or Android Auto smartphone projection. In Touring trim, these systems can be connected wirelessly to your phone. You can use a USB cable if you want, and we’ve determined its faster connection speed.
Honda’s new camera-based advanced driving devices work well in most cases. We have experienced false signals about a collision from the front and are confused by the faint signs of auxiliary tracks holding the road, but such cases are rare. Adaptive cruise control is sometimes a bit of a brake, but otherwise reducing the driving load on a parked vehicle is a great thing.
2022 Honda Civic : Engine
The basic 2022 Civic models remain a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 158 horsepower, while the standard engine remains a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with a 180-horsepower turbocharged engine. The new Civic will only be available in front-wheel drive vehicles. Unfortunately, the manual transmission in the previous generation Civic sedan was discontinued by 2022, leaving the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) as the only offer; the hatchback model still has a six-speed manual.
In, the tests accelerated from 0 to 60 miles in 7.9 seconds. This is slightly faster than the average for a small sedan class. It sounds a bit lazy from the line, but the power is steady and grows fast, so you’ll never need a floor like the base is in a 2.0-liter engine. The Civic’s continuously variable automatic transmission is well-tuned, providing fast power and quick response when you need speed. According to the EPA, the most fuel-efficient version of the new Civic is the mid-range EX, which gets an overall rating of 33 mpg city, 42 mpg highway and 36 mpg.
