2018 Chevrolet Equinox
The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox is a mid-size crossover SUV from Chevrolet based on GM’s Theta unibody platform and in 2004 introduced for the model year 2005. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent is midsize crossovers respectively launched in 2004 for the model year 2005 (Equinox) and 2005 for the 2006 model year (Torrent). The 2018 Equinox is the first crossover SUV from Chevrolet, Torrent was the successor of the discontinued Pontiac Aztek.
Riding on the GM Theta platform, the unibody is mechanically similar to the Saturn Vue and the Suzuki XL7. But the Equinox and the river is larger than the Vue, riding on an 112.5 in (2858 mm) wheelbase, 5.9 in (150 mm) longer than the Vue. Front-wheel drive is standard, with an optional four-wheel drive, not designed for serious off-roading as the truck-based Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet trailblazer.
GM updated the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox for the first time, as GM badges were added on the front doors. The first-generation Equinox and Torrent is entirely at the CAMI Automotive GM / Suzuki joint venture plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. The 3.4 L LNJ V6 engine is made in China (by Shanghai GM), while Aisin AF33 transmission made in Japan. Starting with the 2008 model year, the Equinox Sport and Pontiac GXP available with a 3.6 L V6 engine in the United States. Production ended in May 2009. The Chevrolet Equinox is sold in Mexico during the model year 2009.
Chevrolet has released preliminary specifications for the 2018 Equinox. L, LS, LT, and Premier all, be at the launch in the United States only a single engine option: the third-generation Equinox will be available in four different trim levels. Each trim level will have its own list of standard equipment function:
2018 Chevrolet Equinox L/1SM
2018 Chevrolet Equinox 1.5L Turbocharged inline engine, six-speed automatic transmission, 17-inch all-season tires, seventeen-inch alloy wheels, Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system including seven-inch touch-screen color display, A/MF/M radio, Bluetooth with A2DP wireless streaming stereo audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB integration, and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity, rear view backup camera system, six speakers audio system, electric windows and door locks, keyless entry, keyless access system, keyless ignition start button, and premium cloth seats surfaces. There are no options available for this trim, being the base Chevrolet Equinox trim, the base trim is only available Front-Wheel- Drive (FWD).
2018 Chevrolet Equinox LS / 1LS
Sixteen-inch compact spare tire with steel spare wheel. The 2018 Chevrolet Equinox LS available options are limited for this trim, which is one of the less expensive Chevrolet Equinox finish.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox LT / 1 liter
2018 Chevrolet Equinox LT come with SiriusXM Satellite Radio, power-adjustable driver’s bucket seat, high-intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, LED rear tail lamps, and leather wrapped transmission gear selector. Available options include an eight-inch (8.0″) Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system and advanced technology support manager.
2018 Chevrolet Equinox Premier / 1LZ
2018 Chevrolet Equinox 1LZ come with eighteen-inch all-season tires, eighteen-inch aluminum wheels Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system (eight-inch (8.0 “) color touch-screen display, AM-FM radio, HD Radio, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Bluetooth with A2DP streaming stereo audio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging capabilities, USB integration, and OnStar 4G LTE connectivity), remote vehicle starter system, leather covered seat surfaces, heated dual front bucket seats, rear park assist system, learning wrapped steering wheel, for mounted fog lamps, LED for headlamps and rear tail lamps, and power behind tailgate. 2018 Chevrolet Equinox come with available options include a GPS navigation radio, a Bose premium seven-speaker sound system, and advanced technology support manager.
