2018 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan
The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan is a high-performance version of the Cadillac CTS. The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan series includes three body styles, all with a pushrod OHV V-8 engine and a sport-tuned suspension. The four-door CTS-V sedan was introduced in 2004, and the CTS-V wagon and coupe sports were introduced in 2010 for the 2011 model year. The 2018 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan competes in the North American consumer market for high-performance of luxury sedans and “Echoes” their quality, but it is a more affordable option than competitors like the Audi RS6, BMW M5, and Mercedes E63 AMG.
The production of the CTS-V sedan began in the summer of 2008, the plant in Lansing, Michigan GM. The total production of the Cadillac CTS-V for the 2009 model year was around 3,500 out of about 59,716 productions of the CTS model. 2009 CTS-V has a base price of US$ 59,995, and was available for purchase as of November 1, 2008.
In conjunction with the release of the profitability of the General Motors plan, the automaker has disbanded its High-Performance Vehicle Operations team, the crew responsible for the V-series line Cadillac, Chevrolet Cobalt SS, the HHR SS, and V8 version of the Colorado. According to Vince Muniga, a GM spokesman, “All high-performance projects are on hold indefinitely. The engineers are moving into different areas of the organization, and will work on Cadillac, Buick, Chevrolet, and Pontiac”. Zuniga went on to say that there are no plans for the next few floors high-performance versions, but once GM is in a better financial position, the team could be restored.
Official 0-60 mph time for the second generation CTS-V is 3.9 seconds and the quarter mile is run in 12.0 seconds at 118 mph (190 km/h). These numbers were duplicated on the road and Track magazine (0-60 in 3.9/seconds for the automatic and 4.1 seconds for the manual).
2018 Cadillac CTS-V Sedan Features
Standard features include leather seats, gauge lateral acceleration, alloy aluminum alloy 19-inch Michelin Pilot Sports PS2, music built-in 40 GB hard disk to store and tracers in LED flash to tell the driver when to change. Options include polished wheels, sunroof, navigation system and, for the first time, the Cadillac offers 14-way adjustable Recaro performance seats.
