The 2018 Audi RS4 is a sports car derived from the A4 and manufactured by the Audi car manufacturer. The Audi RS4 2018 is the most powerful model of the Audi model series A4, which is built in the 3rd-generation. The first RS4 appeared as a successor to the Audi RS2 at the end of 1999 and was produced by autumn 2001. In contrast to its predecessor Audi RS2, however, it was produced by Quattro GmbH, a subsidiary of Audi in Neckarsulm. This had a 2.7-liter Bi-Turbo -V6 engine with 280 kW (380 hp).
The 2nd-generation, released in the summer of 2005, was equipped with a 4.2L V8 high-speed engine with 309 kW (420 hp) and without turbocharging. The 3rd-generation was available from spring 2012 to mid 2015 and, like the second generation, has a V8 4.2-liter high-revving engine that delivers 331 kW (450 hp).
The 2018 Audi RS4 Avant quattro was launched at the Geneva Motor Show 2012. Audi RS4 is based on the Audi A4 B8 Avant. 2018 Audi RS4 is also available only S-tronic double-clutch configuration gearbox, which allows the car to reach 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Among the options available at the RS4 B8 are ceramic brakes, allowing the car to perform heavy braking without fading. A total of about 7000 Audi RS4 B8 units were built.
2018 Audi RS4 Design
From an aesthetic point of view, the changes between the classic Audi A4 and Audi RS4 versions are “less tenuous than it seems”. Indeed, only the brushed aluminum exterior mirrors, the extended front bumper equipped with lateral holes to dissipate the heat from the air-to-air exchangers of the turbocharging air, the wings enlarged by 34 mm at the front and 32 mm in the rear to accommodate the 18-inch alloy wheels, the disappearance of the side protection bars and the double exhaust outlet make it possible to distinguish them. Less visible but nevertheless useful, some modifications are functional such as the roof baffle which ensures the stability of the vehicle at high speeds.
2018 Audi RS4 Interior
The interior also benefits from special care, which most people call “faultless” because of the quality of the assemblies. This is a luxury finish using quality materials such as carbon, installed on the dashboard, the center console and the doors, and foamed plastics. In addition, the leather bucket seats are signed Recaro. If the front finish is flattering, the rear seats are not so much and the possibility of installing a third adult at the rear is outlawed.
2018 Audi RS4 Engine
The 2018 RS4 is powered by the advanced version of the 265 hp V6 engine of the Audi S4, turbocharged by cylinder row, to which are attached two overhead camshafts with variable timing of the distribution. In addition, a Bosch Motronic ME7 with boost pressure control and a Cosworth-cast cylinder head tweak the mechanics 9. This engine preparation delivers 380 horsepower from 6,100 rpm to 7,000 rpm, Min and a torque of 400 Nm from 2,500 rpm to 6,000 rpm, an important range of use, in particular permitted by the two turbochargers (KKK K04 at 2.2 bars absolute 4 ), which is recognizable by the shape in “Y” of the air inlet 10.
2018 Audi RS4 Safety
To achieve maximum body rigidity with controlled deformation distortion zones, the B7 RS4 provides laser welding of the main seams of the high strength steel casing, which contributes to improving overall structural rigidity, in particular In the “passenger compartment”. In North America, only the front seats are available the traditional Recaro seats, including lower side airbags.
These were also available as a no-load option in other markets. The rear side airbags are optional for the Recaro series rear seats. Front and external seat belts include belt pretensioners pyrotechnics, while all 2018 Audi RS4 models include a feature straps limit excessive load.
